Vancouver singer-actor-producer Stevie Vallance is up for an Emmy for the second straight year for her voice-directing work on the animated series Madeline. Vallance's long list of credits include TV (Road to Avonlea, a regular on Knot's Landing), films, cartoons, recordings. She also organized the Divas For Life benefit concerts for people with life-threatening illness. Vallance would like to develop a production about Audrey Hepburn.

What was the last movie you watched at home?

"Before Night Falls, I will not continue to watch a movie if it doesn't have good acting. So acting is the thing for me and Javier Bardem's performance really captivated me. And the message was inspiring."

What was the last movie you saw at the theatre?

"The Last Order, I love those kind of films where there's no grand finale, just a little slice of life. The conversations that came up on the way to scatter ashes were beautifully written. I've just scattered my girlfriend's ashes so I could really relate to what they were going through."

What movie could you watch over and over?

"Brother Sun, Sister Moon, I watch it every year 'cause it's soul food for me. The story of St. Francis - the whole giving up the material things for something that's meaningful."

What movie do you wish you'd never seen?

"Highlander 2, that's just one that comes to mind but I would say sequels in general. They very often have nothing to do with the original piece and I feel played for a fool."

If you could spend the day with one movie personality, who would it be?

Audrey Hepburn. I just want to be around her essence. She was a humanitarian and she had such class and elegance. back
